Чем это грозит владельцам доменов из России кроме 20% ?

думаю грозит потерей времени на перенос доменов на name или namecheap с моникера..

Формально, владельцам доменов пока ничем не грозит. Кроме грядущего повышения цен. Если конечно не начнут хитрить, указывая фейковые неверные адреса в других странах и налоговые данные, которые не смогут подтвердить.

Но вообще печально даже не то, что многие крупные компании ввели VAT для пользователей из РФ, а то, что "налог" этот берут себе в карман, не перечисляя в бюджет.

Мотивируют тем, что налоговая РФ не разъясняет им как, куда платить, и пока не понятно, надо ли вообще, если нет юридического представительства в РФ, они не крупная компания, и их нет в реестре, но на всякий случай перестраховываются и хотят создать резерв.

P.S. Гипотетически, если гайки будут закручивать и дальше, многим крупным интернет-компаниям будет проще забанить пользователей из РФ, если этот рынок для них далеко не основной и прибыль от таких клиентов минимальная. Тем более, похожие прецеденты уже были. И еще надо понимать, что в перспективе, доступ из РФ к ресурсам тех интернет-гигантов, которые откажутся вставать на учет и/или создавать локальные представительства, могут просто заблокировать на уровне провайдеров через реестр РКН. Прецеденты похожие также были. Печальнее, если через МПС надавят, обрубив карточные платежи из РФ. Недавний прецедент с зарубежными Visa/mastercard для РФ-кардхолдеров также показывает вероятность такого развития событий.

This has been a week of horrific violence, and our thoughts and support go to everyone affected among our people, our business partners, friends, loved ones, and, most importantly, people on the ground in Ukraine.
We are aware that many of our customers have been enquiring about Moniker's position regarding the supply of domain names and other services during the conflict. We have consulted with our leadership teams, advisors, governing bodies, and industry partners to understand their views, and formulated the policy below.
This is an exceptionally difficult area for us as it presents a conflict between our company's mission of helping as many people as possible to succeed on the internet, globally, and our commitment to doing what is right and ethical. Choosing the best path to achieve both these beliefs has rarely been more difficult than it is today.
Please note the following:
- We will no longer be accepting new registrations and inbound transfers of .RU Domains.
- Existing customers will be able to continue to auto-renew their existing .RU domains when they expire, subject to any changes in sanctions and our ability to maintain supply. We will inform you if in future we can no longer process renewals. Early renewals or multi-year renewals will not be accepted. Please make sure to set those domains you wish to be renewed to renew at expiration.
- We will continue to allow all customers to use our services unless trade sanctions prevent us from doing so.
- We are temporarily increasing the monitoring of our product usage to ensure that we are able to quickly identify and suspend bad actors using our services.
- Some of our suppliers may restrict the sale of their products to customers in Russia. In such cases customers will be individually informed if they are affected.
We will continue to monitor this complex and fluid situation closely and should there be any changes, we will update you immediately.
Any profits made from renewing .RU domains from February 22 until the end of hostilities will be donated to the Red Cross to help refugees and victims of war. We will also be matching donations made by our employees.
